…..One thing that I feel is very important is to stay current. Whether it is in the Martial Sciences, friendships, technology, etc. Do not become a dinosaur during the course of your life time. Instead step out of your comfort zone and explore! Who knows you may just find some thing very, very special! So do not wallo, do not put things off! No instead step out of your comfort zone and explore this world!

But sometimes being a dinosaur is not such a bad thing, I am one in Taijiquan because I still train it as a martial art not a moving meditative health exercise. That, in the Taiji world, makes me a dinosaur….one that is about to go extinct…. but at least I’m in good company

I absolutley agree with you on this. However, I do not see you as a dinosaur in taijiquan instead you and those like you continued to study the Martial Sciences while others just frittered them away!
My post was not that old things are bad and go current but instead to explore what is new. Personally when it comes to the Martial Sciences I train very old school but I also incorporate new technology and technique when I can. This post came about because I had put off being on facebook for forever even when encouraged to join by friends. Once on it I found a lot of old friends that I was fortunate to rediscover solely because of facebook. So I stepped out of my comfort zone and was rewarded!
I fully agree with exploring new ideas…however I am not quite ready for face book yet 🙂
Yes for us older dinosaurs it is daunting. 😉
