Perseverance!

You know there are few things that I enjoy more than talking with older martial artists who have been training for a long, long time.  So much wisdom to pass on and so much information can be gleaned from these people who have persevered for so long.

You see out of the thousands upon thousands of people that start up in the martial sciences only a few, a very rare few continue practicing for as long as they are alive.  These gentleman and ladies are special and it is a joy to be around people who are also life long martial artists.  Most people start train for awhile and then quit and believe it or not as soon as they stop training those skills start disapearing.  You have to use them or in the end you will lose them.  So those people that persevere and continue practicing their whole life will have those skills if they ever need them.

To persevere in anything is hard.  There are so many things that can get in the way.  From family obligations, work, social issues, medical reasons, etc.  The list is really endless why people are unable to persevere and continue training.  Still there are those rare people who are committed and determined to carry on no matter what ever obstacles.  That is special and unique in many, many ways.  If you have the chance to hang out, train and get a little of their wisdom then do so as you can only benefit from it.

To Continue, To Stick With It And Improve Is Essential!
