Martial Diversity!

…..Okay I really enjoy diversity in the martial sciences.  I like to see people do things a little differently.  So it comes as no surprise that I enjoy seeing and feeling how different systems move and technically perform.  Through out my life I have come across martial practitioners from all walks.  Some of them practiced Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Hapkido, Aikido, Modern Arnis, Budo Taijutsu, Aiki Jujutsu, Brazilian Jiujitsu, Wrestling, MMA, Kali, Kuk Sool Won, Hwa Rang Do, Hung Gar, Tai Chi, Silat, Kuntaw, and many, many more.  What I have found and tried to see throughout time is the connections between the systems the principles and elements that are used.  Needless to say this diversity is just one thing that makes the martial world enjoyable.  You see it is always interesting to meet someone who is good at what they do from another system.  Then if time permits we can have an exchange of ideas and training.  That is simply fantastic!  I am constantly on the look out for the good in the martial ways though I am still critical.  I have met practitioners from all kinds of systems that if needed to could defend themselves and their loved ones.  Martial diversity is a strength and if you look closely you will realize that the similarities are more than our differences!  So search out those people who seriously train and enjoy their company.  In the end there are simply not enough of us!

See You On The Mats!
