…..Okay, yesterday I drove down to Sterling Heights, Michigan and attended an MARPPIO seminar featuring Dr. Remy Presas Jr. at the Sterling Heights Modern Arnis Club located at the TDS Family Martial Arts And Fitness Center. Guro Ben Harrison was the host and his group of Modern Arnis practitioners were ready to train. This was a nice trip as I brought along my oldest son Nicholas and he experienced his first non IRT seminar! Now I must say that this is a nice group of people from Remy Presas Jr. to Ben Harrison to Guro Enoch Carlton and every practitioner there. These are good people or as I like to say my kinda people.
…..Now onto the seminar material. We went straight into some Visidario technique training that I have seen some of it a long time ago with his father but it was so enjoyable to be practicing it again. I will say that I really enjoyed the training and was fortunate that Guro Enoch Carlton was my partner as I think we both had a good time. We worked allot on countering the counter to our striking technique and moving into a finger or thumb control, break, with the stick, empty handed against the stick, and empty handed, etc. Definitely very enjoyable training and presented in a really nice manner. I would encourage anyone who has enjoyed Modern Arnis in the past or present to attend a Dr. Remy Presas Jr. seminar as it really was a blast. My son Nicholas enjoyed it so much that he did not stop talking about it all the way home. 🙂

I will say it again that if you get a chance to train with Dr. Remy Presas Jr. please do so as you will not regret it. I will also say that the Sterling Heights Modern Arnis Club run by Guro Ben Harrison is a great place to train so if you are in the area head on over there!
