…..Let’s face it who does not like a challenge? We as a species thrive on challenges and the strife that they some times cause. How does this pertain to our martial science training? Well it means that we need to constantly challenge ourselves and have other people challenge our training. Now that does not mean go out and actually challenge someone to a fight as that will only in the end lead you to jail. What it does mean is that you need to push yourself so that you are routinely moving beyond your comfort zone. When you cannot push yourself then hopefully your instructor will push you. This constant uncomfortableness of over coming various challenges prepares us for those few times in our life where we may have to defend ourselves. You see we have become used to challenges and being uncomfortable and over coming strife. In the moment of truth this can be a huge advantage!
