…..I have spent quite a bit of time through out my life training with different Modern Arnis Instructors.  Quite a bit of that time was spent going to The Professors seminars and watching his certain brand of magic with the sticks and of course the blade.  Through out the years I have come to realize that a certain good friend of mine is simply one of the best Modern Arnis instructors out there.  Rich Parsons has been training for almost thirty years in the art of Modern Arnis and for roughly I believe ten years or so he apprenticed under Manong Ted Buot in Balintawak and is now an instructor in this system.  This puts Rich in a unique position as Balintawak was one of the pivotal systems that the Professor Remy Amador Presas studied before founding Modern Arnis.  What I enjoy about training with Rich is that he let’s the students via their practice seep in with the techniques he is showing.  Rich shows things multiple times and other possibilities with what you are doing.  Eventually people really come away from a Rich Parsons seminar with quite a bit of information to work with.  That plus his unique insights and skill sets make Rich one of the true gems of Modern Arnis to train with!
