…..For Christmas I was also lucky to receive Steve Tarani’s book Karambit Exotic Weapon of the Indonesian Archipelago. This is a really nice book and one that I did not have in my martial library.  Mr. Tarani presents some history of the Karambit, strategy of its use and techniques are presented in a simple matter to understand.  All in all the book is a nice read with lots of valuable information and technique.  Much of Mr. Tarani’s skill set in the Indonesian arts is drawn from Pencak Silat Mande Muda and training with the late great Pendakar Herman Suwanda.  Who was simply a fantastic martial artist and I was fortunate to have trained with him quite a few times.  Maybe that is another reason why I enjoyed reading this book so much. 🙂
