Movement!

…..I was talking to a good friend the other day who has also been practicing the martial sciences for years.  He has practiced several arts and finally found his home practicing two complimentary systems.  Since finding what he likes best his skill sets in my opinion have skyrocketed.  However when we were talking I asked him how things were going and how he was enjoying his training.  His answer was that training was absolutely fantastic and he had never enjoyed it so much.  He then when on to say all those years of practicing the other arts have helped him so much in that he has a better understanding of his movement and how he can make things work in his current training.  I told him I see this regularly when someone comes to me from a different system and while there may be some really big differences they have that ability to understand movement easier.  Good movement is a cornerstone of all effective and efficient martial systems.   Being able to implement your tactics and overall strategy relys on your ability to move and create optimum situations for your benefit.  I personally love watching all martial artists perform when they have good movement.  This goes irregardless of the system they are moving within.  Once your movement gets better and your understanding of movement is refined then you will be surprised how easy it is to see movement and replicate it.  This will help your skill sets grow to the next level!
