…..Well it is sad news but on my end not unexpected. My good friend Bart Uguccioni is moving and so with that the Dexter Bujinkan Dojo will be closing. The DBD has been run on his property for well over ten years in some shape and form. It has been graced with fantastic instruction from the likes of Philip Legare, Mike Pearce, Mark O’Brien, Mike Asuncion, Patrick Veringa, Otto Cardew, Myself and many more. We have piped in via the internet live classes from Japan featuring Noguchi Sensei. (that was special) People have gone to Tai Kais and also to Japan to train regularly and on a consistent basis. It has through out this time been steered under the watchful eye of my best friend and one of the best martial practitioner’s that I know Bart Uguccioni. During this time we have seen students come and go and some improve to a level where they are running their own Dojo’s or Training Halls. Now here is the good news. Bart is not moving very far. Roughly twenty miles or so from where he is right now. So after a month or two of resettling I imagine that the teaching itch will come again and a new Dojo will begin at a new place! So instead of an end to some thing, really it is just a new beginning! To anyone who has ever been to the Dexter Bujinkan Dojo you know exactly how special it is!
Here are some photos of training held through out the years:
