…..I am a firm believer in maintaining the functionality and quality of my finest blades. Most of the best blades out there at least that I have also have some age to them. With this age can come some wear and tear so I try to keep my finest blades in good condition by not wearing them out. How do I do this. Well first I try to get similar or identical blades of each that are made brand new. Then if I need a live blade to train with and cut with I have one that I will not be as concerned with using. Another thing that I do is to have aluminum and wooden training tools to also help fill the void and allow for safe training with a partner. These are essential so that the skill sets learned can be practiced against a live person. Finally I try to take care and ensure that I use the right cleaning tools and equipment on each live blade and or aluminum or wooden trainer. So if you have an older priceless blade and you wish to keep it in excellent shape similar to when you first received it have a modern one made that you can practice with and an aluminum and wooden trainer so that you can also practice with a partner. Always clean and maintain all of them. This will definitely ensure that your finest blades will last and possibly be that family heirloom.
