…..Definitely a different type of martial system than what I practice but really fun to watch and I bet it is even more fun to get out there and move. Capoeira is closer to martial dance but that does not make it ineffective as in the end it comes down to the practitioner. Enjoy the video of this Maestro.
This instructor is blind.
Here is a lively capoeira match.
Women definitely enjoy the musical/dance side of capoeira.

I’ve always liked Capoeira, do you have any idea about its origins? I once heard something about it being invented by slaves who had to learn how to defend themselves with their hands shackled, but im not too sure on the validity of that.
Hey Mike,
Yes that is definitely what I have heard as well. It would make some sense to the movements. On all accounts and from all sources its origins are from slaves taken from Africa.
Thanks for sharing, Brian. I have several friends who do capoeira and I have heard the same history with regard to its African origins. I’m going to forward the Capoeira girl video to a long time woman friend who practices it. I know that she’ll love it. Thanks !
Hey Brian,
Glad you like it and I hope your friend enjoys that clip!
