…..Okay the other day I was working out with a long time private lesson IRT practitioner who had shall we say gotten out of the flow and had been missing in action for a couple of years. In other words life got in the way and took over his time. So here he is trying to regain the skill sets that he had and of course improve and learn the latest material. Daunting task is what he said to me as he could not believe how his skills had eroded so quickly and yet truthfully I was impressed with how he was doing! So we worked out and I told him not to worry but to keep on going and get back into the flow and the skills would come back quick. Now the latest material on the other hand? Well that might take a little more time to get up to speed. You see as I explained to him that I simply do not stand still or not try to improve what I do. Because of this I am constantly evolving not only how I teach but what I teach. I am constantly trying to make improvements and innovations. This in itself leads to growth and new skill sets. So naturally IRT continues to grow and as I explained to him that means there is always new and creative material to learn. So I immediately showed him 3 count as well as a 4 foot stick countering drill that he had not seen before. The light bulb turned on and guess what that day he made some improvements! He is getting back into the flow! That my friends is what it is all about! Being in the flow and enjoying what you do!
See You On The Mats!
