More Than One!

…..First off as alluded to in another recent post it is important to train with other instructor’s.  That is why I bring in top notch people from around the world regularly.  This allows IRT practitioner’s to see and feel different movement and find the similarities to what we do.   In the end this type of martial exploring is essential for any practitioner.  Along with this is the idea that there is more than one person to learn IRT from.  While I am “the source” of IRT I am not simply the only one that can teach other practitioner’s!  We have long time practitioner’s like Pat Mayette or Tim Oommen who each have different pieces of the puzzle.  Then we can go to  my right hand man and the guardian of IRT Gary Haffey who is someone that every IRT practitioner needs to learn from!  Everyone in Instinctive Response Training should try to get as much practice in with everyone above.  Beyond the four of us though, each and every IRT practitioner has some thing to teach! I learn from every practitioner during class when I am teaching.  Just last night I learned that one IRT practitioner has it when on the ground.  Meaning he understands body weight and staying relaxed and close to his opponent.  In watching his movement I was impressed!   Or I could go back a couple of weeks when I saw some flaws in another practitioner which after correcting him it also reinforced to me that I better make sure that I do not do that! What this brings us down to is that the IRT family or tribe is a group of collective individuals working toward a common goal of being fit and effective in a violent encounter! So in a way we all are teacher’s and even better than that we are all brother’s!

See You On The Mats!
