Firearms Training!

Firearm Effect

…..I am a firm believer in firearms training.  Rifle, Shotgun, Handgun and all of the many different variants of them.  This is essential martial training and some thing that you need to address in your training.  Martial Artists often romanticize about weapons or tools from history.  In particular we romanticize quite often about the Daisho or the  Japanese Katana and Wakazashi. (long and short sword)  The modern Rifle and handgun are the equivalent of the Daisho.  This is important to remember.  The modern warriors personal tools consist of these.  So every Martial Science practitioner interested in being up to date in their training must also be up to date with firearms!

Here are two Systema (Russian Martial Art) video clips with some firearms training in it.  Enjoy!

Here is an IRT Rapid Fire clip with music from two IRT members.

I like Systemas empty hand stuff, but the rolling around with firearms is a bit much “foe me”. Put on body armor, helmet, mag carriers, radios and what all on ya and you are going to have a bad day IMO. Simple energy conserving methods of going to ground/cover and getting up are the way I would go. Sticking the lead leg in front of a muzzle is also something I wouldnt trust under pressure much either.

Our (US) SpecOps guys call that stuff “Too John Wo”.

Hey Tgace, like you I am simple and keep everything simple in my firearms training. (KISS) Still I have particularly enjoyed a few Systema firearms disarms. Those I added to my skill set.
