Happy New Year!

…..Well, Happy New Year to everyone!  I hope that you all had a great and safe New Years Eve and thought about your personal resolutions and goals for the coming year.  2010 looks to be an exciting year with many possibilities on the horizon and each and every one of us should try to take advantage of them.  The Instinctive Edge will continue to grow this year with daily postings, video clips, information both technical and advice.  My hope is that anyone who clicks here to check us out will find some thing of value in the over four hundred or so posts!  We will continue our message that all martial sciences and arts have some thing of great value and that each one should be looked at and if possible explored!  In the coming year practitioners of Instinctive Response Training will be tested and go through some trials that will be adventurous and difficult.  The time for little steps are over and the big steps need to be taken.  Simply put those that train hard will see some major leaps and bounds!  This of course is as it should be in all martial sciences as we all need to constantly be striving to better ourselves and prepare our body, mind and spirit if we ever have to use these special skills.  The martial skill sets are unique, precious and simply put one of the greatest skill sets that anyone could ever have.  So in the new year make sure you polish the stone (ie. practice diligently) and ensure that your skill does not atrophy!

The following video clips are of Donn Draeger who inspired many martial artists of my generation when he lived and trained in Japan and studied Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu.  He is truly a legend!

See You On The Mats In 2010!
