…..I spend a good amount of time (or try to) every day in meditation. Each day I attempt to set some time apart where I can either simply relax and drift off or to concentrate where I visualize training. Truthfully, I find this a great help in my training. I think the benefits are exponentially high for someone who takes the time to practice meditation whether it be just to relax or to concentrate or visualize. In IRT we have a number of subtle drills that enable you to concentrate while meditating. These drills for a cornerstone of how we practice this. Few have been taught them to this point but it is clear that they accelerate ones skill sets based simply on observation. The idea of relaxing and letting go can be harder on some levels for many individuals but… when you do so then other doors open up for you. You see quite often in the martial sciences people only focus or focus to the extreme on the physical side while glossing over the mental and spiritual side. In order to be complete you cannot practice in only one area. No, you must strive to be whole and have the physical, mental and spiritual blend together.
