…..If you are a serious martial practitioner then you understand the importance of conditioning. In order to effectively utilize your training and skill sets you need to have the attributes built up that allow you to implement it. You will need anaerobic (without air) and aerobic (with air) training. You will need to be well-rounded with running, swimming, jump rope, bicycling, climbing, weigh lifting training and more. Over and above your martial science training you will need to ensure that you are operating at a level that will allow you to outlast a potential violent assault. Imagine in the moment if you are unable to utilize your training because you are winded or simply unfit. That could certainly be catastrophic. So beyond class and your martial training you need to be constantly looking at ways to stay in shape and healthy. Even during the course of a normal day’s activity while at work look to walk as much as possible, take the stairs over the elevator and simply do anything that can keep you fit over the long haul.
