There is no place in the martial sciences for racism, sexism, nationalism, etc. Anything that purports that it is the best or the one true way or excludes other’s based on skin, sex, religion, etc. That is and always will be simply ridiculous! There are no absolutes, not in the martial science’s and not in life in general!
It came to my attention recently that some friend’s had felt racially discriminated against by member’s of a certain group of people. This group thought that they were superior because they belonged to a certain country and race. Well let me tell you folk’s that they were full of it. As a matter of fact their skills were and are significantly inferior to these friend’s of mine. Maybe that is why they worked hard to block the way of my friend’s. However, that really should and is not the point here. They simply thought that my friend’s were inferior at their chosen art form because they were not a member of this country and race. That is and always will be wrong!
Folk’s simply put, the world is shrinking and you better get used to people of all kind’s, color’s, sex, religious background, etc. exploring what you do and teach. There simply is no going back as the world get’s closer and closer. Simply put we can travel to places faster and quicker than ever before and this will only increase as our technology improves. We can also communicate around the world at a speed that has never been achieved before. We are closer now to each other than ever before so let the barrier’s go and do what it is you do with excellence but be free and show all those who are interested.
Come together and enjoy each other. In truth we have more in common than our differances. If you get to know some one from another place it will touch you in many special way’s and you will really grow from it!
