The other day I was in a conversation with a good friend of mine who just happens to be one of the greatest martial artists in the world at this time. His skill is simply without question. Still when we talk we always have interesting conversations regarding our training, teaching and research. We are simply without a doubt martial practitioners that are interested in improving and seeing what possibilities are out there. So we are always on the look out for the little things in what we do and what others do. The other day my friend said, “How are you keeping everything fresh lately?” I thought and then responded with I am Diving Right In! So what is Diving Right In? Well, in just a few words it simply means that I am just doing! Whether I am teaching, training or practicing under another watchful instructors eye I am diving into the lesson, training and letting it unfold! In other words I am just letting it happen and doing it in the moment and afterwards then I will decipher it! That is Diving Right In! Sometimes we can over think to much and that is good but at other times we just need to do what we are doing without thought and just live in the moment! Then when we have some quiet time you can reflect and see what and where you went and make the mental notes to replicate if needed!
After I said that my friend said, “I guess I am diving right in too!” 🙂 Then he said, “I try to think of myself as a new student always and catch the wonder that is the martial arts.” One thing that I feel is absolutely true is that having good friends to share your martial experiences with is a must.
So What Is Stopping You? Dive Right In And Catch The Wonder That Is The Martial Arts!
