…..Kuntaw or Kuntao are martial systems from the Philippines with a Chinese influence. In some cases they have also been heavily influenced by Indonesian Silat as they made there way to the Philippines. (of course that depends on the system) Some even come from Indonesia as well. These systems have some really great unique movement with lots of leg destructions, empty hands and weapons. I though I would post a number of videos from different systems so that you could get some contrast.

Kuntao Dumpag
Kuntaw In The Phillipines
There are quite a variety of systems using this name and some times they do not quite look like one another. Some have even modernized and look more like Karate or Tae Kwon Do.

Brian,
Please remove or rename the Kuntaw Kali Kruzada video clip posted here. The instructor in this clip is Guro Jeff Chung from Neo Tribe Kali.
Thanks,

Hey Rich,
No sweat. When I picked it up from Youtube that is what I believe it was advertised as. Take care!
Thanks Brian. I’ll post a clip on you tube and send you a link, to replace this clip.
-Rich
Great Rich,
I will not only replace it but feature it in a blog post all by itself!
I am sure that people around the world would love to hear more
about you and what you do! 😉
Is there any classes for kuntaw any more in the T.C Mich area, or a 50 mile radius?
Looking to keep training
Charles Raiens
Hi Charles,
I believe they still have the Kuntaw class at the College. Brian “Buzz” Smith is still there and Paul Vittrioli does the majority of the teaching. Hope that helps!
