…..I am a firm believer that when teaching the Martial Sciences you also need to teach people how to behave in an ethical and moral manner. Now you do not need to preach and it does not need to be hammered on regularly but if you are teaching skill sets that can hurt someone else then I feel you have a responsibility to also try and teach/show when people should and should not use them. Part of the best types of Martial Sciences training is that they not only help people with skills that have the potential to save them or their loved ones but that they also help that person grow in other ways. This type of growth is very special. Now when teaching a child you may preach ethical and moral behavior quite a bit more. With adults not so much but it still should be there. I personally wish to train with good people that is always my number one goal. People who have ethics and moral fiber and who wish to have skill sets to protect their loved ones in the moment. With this in mind most people who come into my Training Hall already have high ethical and moral standards. So in the end we focus manly on the our IRT skill set development. Still though legally knowing what they can and cannot do in a life threatening situation is a priority. I try to also give guidance where I can and help everyone on their martial journey! In turn I have always benefited and received guidance as well! Naturally as everyone who has ever practiced knows camaraderie in the Martial Sciences is very, very special!
