…..Okay I admit it I have a passion for stuff. Moving has definitely made me reconsider my passion for keeping things in the thought that I might use them one day. Having lived in one place for ten years I am stunned with literally how much I have accumulated. The martial side is staggering but beyond that I have kept items in the thought that one day I may use them again. Things like kid’s toy’s, free frisbees, model trains from my youth, etc, etc, etc. Which is interesting because for a long time I was very compact in my living arrangements. I also think we were aided by both my parents and my wife’s parents in that when they moved the pushed some of their stuff on us. I will chalk that one up to memory to not let it happen again! In this material world I think we need to evaluate on how much stuff do we really need? With that in mind I plan on being more careful from here on out and trying not to keep extra things that I really won’t use. This is a lesson and one I plan on using for my own benefit for the future! On the martial side I think I will really be careful with what I buy and how much of it. If needed we can always buy more but when you have a ton of it and are moving well it is a pain. Thank goodness there is storage because that is where a good portion of my martial material will be going until the relocation is done and a suitable Training Hall is found. Until then I will be running light with enough for myself, my kid’s and the few students that start training with me initially in Vegas.
See You On The Mats!
