Your welcome I am happy to help in any small way. I definitely like what you are doing so keep at it!

  3. We were pleasantly surprised to see someone not connected to our small group, and without thought of any remuneration, promoting our art. We can’t thank you enough for this, brother.

Thank you, Brian. We’re very grateful your love for the martial sciences led you to us.

  5. Brian VanCise says:

That is great G.Trinidad! I am very happy that I was able to help you even in such a small way! Have fun with your training!

  6. SANKYO7781 says:

Were these guys trained by bo or chris?

  7. Brian VanCise says:

    Sankyo7781,

I believe they were trained by both but I could be wrong. Please contact SayocKaliPhilippines above and ask him! Thanks!

  8. JuanTaga says:

    @SANKYO7781
It’s GRANDMASTER Bo. A little respect to the founder of the art would be appreciated.
To answer your question, the group was founded and trained by GM Bo when he returned to Cavite, his hometown in the Philippines.

  9. James Cole says:

And, it’s Pamana TUHON Sayoc. Not ,”Chris”. For everyones clarification There is ONE TUHON in Sayoc Kali. That is Pamana TUHON Sayoc. This group is not endorsed by Sayoc Kali,Sayoc Fighting systems, or STG. It’s a rouge group ripping off Sayaoc kali. Even their certificates are photo copied with forged signitures, no seal, and no expiration date. Truth hurt’s but there it is.

    James,

If they were trained by Bo Sayoc then it would appear that they are legit. Right? He was the Grandmaster of the system before his son took over. One could see how they could have grown independently. Personally I thought everything was connected. However, my putting them on here was to show there movement whether it is affiliated with Sayoc Kali in America or with the founder of the system in the Philippines. I do not take sides within a style, etc. Personally I wish everyone the best! I have a lot of respect for Sayoc Kali the system and the people whom I have met here in America. It is a great system deserving a lot more recognition than it has been given! As for a person outside of the system using someones name (ie. Chris) instead of a title I think common sense would indicate that this is okay. If you are a Sayoc Kali practitioner then of course your should address Chris as Pamana Tuhon (if that is what the organization requires) but if you are not in the system then Chris Sayoc should be okay for everyone else. Personally I like it when instructors allow all of their students to use a first name basis with them. However that is just how I operate and have been taught so the poster who utilized just Chris should be cut some slack.

Love your passion and hope that your experience in Sayoc Kali is great! It is a fantastic system and it’s movement is great!

    Brian

  11. James Cole says:

Guro Brian, thank you for the warm reply! My beef is that they are not legit. They are using photo copied certificates with no expiration date, forged signatures, and they do not have the seal of TUHON Sayoc. They are also offering Instructorships in Sayoc Kali through a SIX WEEK course. This is ridiculous. As a private student of Grand Master Tatang Bo for over 5 years, I can assure you that he would not agree with these actions. That point is esssentially mute, however ,since ALL authority of both Sayoc Fighting Systems and Sayoc Kali were handed down to Pamana TUHON Sayoc. Just trying to set some things straight.
    Thanks again Guro Brian

Thanks for being so cool, and open minded,Guro Brian. I’m not here to start trouble or be devisive. Quite the contrary. But these cat’s gotta recognize. There would be no Sayoc Fighting Systems or Sayoc Kali without Pamana TUHON Christopher Sayoc. They cannot LEGALLY give out rank wthout going directly through him. It’s this kind of nonsense that causes such fragmentation within FMA in general. Sayoc instructors are top notch. It’s arguably the most advanced egded weapon system in the world. Why? Strict controls, protocols, guide lines, constant evolution, and evaluation by superiors. Sayoc Kali Philippines has failed to commit to any of these guidelines.

The official website of Sayoc Global, LLC (Sayoc.com) has posted a statement regarding this group.

There is the official statement from the Sayoc Global, LLC. That pretty much say’s it all! It is certainly a matter for them to decide and take care of between the two groups. Hopefully they can do so without having to go to court. Personally, I feel that in situations like this it would be best for the Philippines group to change their name. Nothing wrong with that under any circumstances! Needless to say I take no sides in the matter and hope it is resolved between both parties! Good luck!
