I try to spend some time each day when I practice on the little details that make up technique. When practicing I look at the basic movement and then I try to isolate parts of it so that I have an opportunity to improve my movement. For instance many people know how to throw a cross but how many people remember to tuck their chin? Or also work to ensure that their shoulders provide defensive coverage as well. It does not matter what you are working on whether offense, defense, empty hands, tools/weapons, etc. Look carefully at the movement, break it down in parts and then really pay attention to the little details. You may just be surprised with your progress!

That is pretty much ALL you do in CMA isolate and analyze 🙂
The secret is in the details, in the stuff that takes hours to get right — but is all but invisible in practice. For those given the chance to see and learn these details, who develop a love of repetition, and accept that a whole lot of people won’t understand and won’t appreciate these things… the rewards are vast.
Absolutely Tim and Jim!
