I spent the last weekend with family in Moab, Utah! We visited Arches National Park. I have to say that it is definitely one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Simply amazing! Best of all we hiked like crazy and everyone got a really good workout in. One of my students was with me and she fell on one of the more strenuous hikes. I have to say I was impressed that she utilized a forward breakfall to perfection only coming up with some minor bruises. During the course of our training few things are as important as breakfalls and rolls. Always remember this in your training because it could save you from serious injury some day!

Looks like a beautiful place
And I don’t mean to constantly bother you here but this topic is one I can completely concur with.
A few years ago I fell down the stairs and after I stopped rolling I realized I was utilizing my Jujutsu training from over 30 years ago. I also was picking apples with the family one day and I had my arms full of apples and I was being buzzed by a rather large Bee and when I ducked my foot slipped and I fell over, did a shoulder roll and popped right back up and never dropped and apple.
My youngest daughter, who was 3 at the time, still tells the story of daddy rolling on the ground for no reason and then standing up and not one apple got dropped or bruised
Hey Tim,
It is great how training can stick with you and save your life or at least your back!
