I Had A Great Time…..

Mt. Charleston Fall

I had a great time training up in the mountains yesterday at our IRT intensive.  We covered hand gun takeaways at close range as well as handgun retention when the attacker is trying to take you handgun away.  This was looked at from retaining in the holster as well as when it is outside and in your hand.  Both are very important.  We also looked at a situation when someone has a long gun and is trying to move you and you have to do some thing to save your life.  Long gun disarms are one more essential skill for any modern martial practitioner.  We looked at long stick which easily translates into using a shovel, broom, etc.  Knife retention skills and grab escapes filled out the training working off the same exact principles and elements utilized in the hand gun retention.  Building skills sets that are easy, simple and effective to apply.  Best of all the mountain air was exhilarating!  Some thing special about being outside close to nature and in a place that is well magical!
