Structure Is Essential

Structure it is essential.  You simply cannot be effective if you have consistently poor structure!  In the Martial Sciences we are in constant movement.  Flowing from one position the next is the norm.  During that movement you need to have balance, posture and more to have effective structure.  If you routinely are off balance your structure will inherently be poor and your technique will suffer greatly.  One of my instructors always use to say to me, “Brian, move fluidly and in balance”.  He was always harping on being fluid and in balance so that your structure would be sound!  As I have moved through the years training this is something I can do regardless of my age and or whether I am sick.  I can always have good balance, posture and fluid movement and thereby increase my structure which will allow me to perform skill sets at a high level!  It will never be perfect but I can certainly try. 😉  Structure, Angle, Leverage are the key ingredients to any technique.  Structure is essential and you can take great steps in your training to ensure that yours is always solid!

See You On The Mats!
