Understanding “Real World” Violence…

Close Up Angled Elbow Posterized

Understanding “real world” violence is a key to being effective at protective yourself and your loved ones.  One of the main things you should remember is that violence can come in many different forms and many different ways.  That is why you should always be aware of your surroundings and avoid potentially dangerous situations.  If you do that you have just eliminated a lot of potential situations from happening to you or your family.  One of the other things you should be looking for is to immerse yourself in the dynamics of violence as it happens in our world.  Now my profession deals with potential violence.  This is an everyday possibility.  If you do not get to see violence close up you can certainly see videos of violence that is happening or has happened around the world.  One thing you will figure out quickly is that it is never pretty, never quite “dojo esque”.  No, instead it is usually pretty messy and even professionals look messy when it is happening.  This is some thing that you should expect.  Not everything will go right!  Not everything will “look good”.

One of the best video’s in recent times is the Threat Indicators put out by TGace a law enforcement officer in New York.  You should memorize these unconscious indicators that people do without thought.  It could just save your life!

Be Aware, Avoid and Act when necessary!!!
