Have you ever heard the phrase a good offense beats defense? Well when you are on offense or initiating the action your body is in action and action my friends is faster than reaction. So if you, as the defender who is being attacked are playing defense then you are reacting and it is going to be difficult for you. Good, solid knife defense skills incorporate attacking the knife wielding assailant into their movement. If you disrupt their attack and ability to think you can gain the initiative and be the driver in the action/reaction sequence. This is essential!
