The Danger Of Being Fixed On technique…

We constantly practice our Martial Science. This practice leads us to develop skill sets that can be useful in a moment of physical violence. However, in the moment we must be creative and adaptive to the situation at hand. We cannot afford to fixate on a technique or skill set but instead we must flow or enter the Instinctive Response. This allows us to operate without the encumbrance of thought. This will make you faster, more able to change and flow with what the situation requires. Recently, I was involved in a violent situation. During that moment of violence I actively took someone down. However, someone else continued to attack and I disengaged and transitioned to a tool and neutralized the situation. I was not fixated on maintaining control after the takedown but instead flowed to another skill set. That is what is meant by Creative Adaptability and entering the Instinctive Response. If I had fixated on the takedown and control I might have been struck, hurt or overcome. Since I did not fixate but instead transitioned and flowed to another skill set I was successful and eventually gained. Control of the situation. I transitioned, adapted, overcame, flowed, and was creative. I did not fixate… Or tried to make something work. I did not tense up or become fearful. I just was in the moment and let my training come forth. Do not fixate…. Flow…. Relax and persevere!
