Simple, effective, efficient… Thats what I am looking for in a Martial System. It’s also what I look for in every tool I buy. Whether its a blade, blunt object like a stick or a gun, I want that tool to be simple, effective and efficient. If we look at all of the handguns out there you will find some really high end race firearms that are great for Competition and range day. They typically have a light trigger, are heavier and perform great for what they are designed to do but they can be finicky with ammunition and cleaning. In combat or real world Personal Protection you need something that functions all the time and is not finicky. Thats why in 1990 when I was just getting into Law Enforcement I had to make a choice buy an all metal metal Sig or a Glock. Both highly rated guns both reliable. However the Glock was in my opinion and many others more reliable. Yet both were very reliable, but Glock Gen 2 definitely was better under extreme environmental tests/challenges and was just a simpler tool. So with that, and that the Sig was heavy and carrying anything heavy on a duty belt all day would be a pain in the ass helped me decide to go with the Glock. Simple, effective and efficient. This is a strong motto to live by in the Martial Sciences!
