Balance!

Okay good technique requires good balance. There really is no way around it. If you want to be successful regularly then your balance must be good whether you are striking with your hands, feet, a tool or if you are on the ground and grappling. Balance is essential to good movement. Every once in a while I will notice someone coming up on the ball of their feet when kicking. In general that is poor balance and needs to be corrected quickly. It is very hard to execute a kick effectively if you are balancing on the ball of your feet. (though there is always the exception) When transitioning through a movement whether you do so on the balls of your feet of even with a heel to toe movement you need to be in balance at the beginning, middle and most certainly at the end. For some people this happens pretty easily. While for others this is something that they struggle with. Think of it this way, when you walk well you walk with good balance and posture, etc. That same balance needs to be within your martial science training. So when practicing concentrate on your balance and you will go far. Once that is figured out then it is all about unbalancing your opponent!

See You On The Mats And Hopefully In Balance!
