    That footage does indeed look old!

    Whats the difference between competing in sambo and BJJ? it looked really similar besides the ringout part

    Very similar in many respects. Sambo exponents certainly allow a larger variety of leg locks in their competitions and they specialize more in this area. The Top is different two and provides some slightly different aspects but not really anything significant. Other than that it is a great competition style martial system that allows you to get after it!
