I came across this clip today and thought everyone might find it interesting. Empty Mind Films is doing a DVD on the Japanese Sword. This particular clip features the Katori Shinto Ryu which is Japan’s oldest Koryu sword school. Enjoy!

Like probably 99 of Japanese sword aficionados my first experiences were with Samurai sword sets of the cheap ornamental variety. Unfortunately many people don t know that there are some major differences between a functional Japanese sword and these Samurai sword sets as can be clearly demonstrated in this rather amusing post on Sword Forum International.
