So the family and I just returned from vacation and we had an excellent time. Part of the trip was spent at the Grand Canyon and then throughout Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. (visiting family) On the way back we hit Tucson and stopped at the Old Tucson Movie Studios which is a really cool wild west town. All in all the trip was great and provide some excellent time to think about martial training and where IRT is going next!
In 2011 we will according to my sources be having an Advanced Practitioner relocating to Texas. Mike Hammer will be the first IRT practitioner in the Lone Star state and we are looking forward to him starting to get some people together to train in IRT in that great state! Instructor Gary Haffey is continuing training in Michigan with the help of soon to be Instructor Scott Sober. Once Scotts advancement is complete several other candidates will be next! Michigan is thriving with our small group in Alma and possibilities of training in the Metro Detroit area as well. In Chicago there is possibility of training but it is of course a decision made on a case by case basis. IRT West in Nevada is slowly starting to take off. I am looking forward to having a small group dedicated to our system of training growing and prospering here in this beautiful location! 2011 looks good in that I will be reinforcing our IRT Draw Point Methodology, weapon retention and introducing the IRT force on force training in a new exciting manner. Firearms training will also be available for people to qualify for their CCW licenses in Nevada, Utah and hopefully also in Michigan. Several new e-books should be out in 2011 and early 2012 and look for exciting seminars like our Training on the Edge of the World in January! Look also for Mike Hammer and Jose Prieto to represent IRT in the cage and continue their exciting MMA careers! All in all things are starting to take off but….. remember Instinctive Response Training is not about quantity but instead always about quality. Every practitioner is an individual and this system thrives on personal one on one training and small group training! That is our forte!!! So with that I wish everyone a great and happy New Year!
See You On The Mats!
