So this weekend we had our Training On The Edge of the World Intensive Class! People came from out-of-town and we trained throughout the weekend in several unique locations. The first day we trained at the beautiful Red Rock Canyon. This national park is simply breathtaking and after a short hike we trained down in a small valley on top of a boulder! Knife Defense and Stick/Long Knife and Dagger was the order of the weekend and the first training session whetted everyone’s appetites! On the same day we traveled to the top of Lone Mountain to view the city and did a little training.
On Saturday the mountain passes were dangerous for hiking so instead we traveled to Nevada’s first state park The Valley of Fire! The Valley of Fire is a unique place. Mountains, boulders, trails, gulleys, valleys with red rock, bee hive like mountains, rainbow color mountains and white domes. It has been a place that is sought out by movie makers do to its incredible natural beauty! Following are a few pictures from The Valley of Fire training on Stick/Long Knife and Dagger. Enjoy!
The next day we traveled to Mt. Charleston and climbed the Bristlecone Trailhead. Of course in some places there were three feet of snow so it was treacherous footing and serious climbing. We made it to the top of a peak after some serious work and then we trained for an hour or so!
All in all it was a great weekend with adventures climbing, training and of course good IRT style friendship!!!
Look for more pictures soon! Plus wild video footage once everything has been finished and worked on!
See You In The Mountains!!!
