Just Back In…..

Just back in from Utah and what a wonderful place it is.  I have been to Utah before but every time I go I enjoy it more.  This time we were up in the mountains skiing and snow shoeing.  Now I love to downhill ski.  It simply is a great workout and very enjoyable with good weather and plenty of snow.  Utah has some of the best snow that I have ever seen so once again the downhill skiing was great!  Keeping with the idea of getting away and staying busy we also went snow shoeing.   Now I was up in a pretty incredible place up over 10,000 feet with 360 views for miles.  Mountain view, valley view you name it.  Best of all as we worked our way out into the trees we came across dear tracks, rabbit tracks and some kind of canine track.  There were no people in this area there so who knows what kind it was.  In IRT I try to regularly do other activities outside of the Martial Sciences.  This is just one more way to stay well rounded and physically fit!  This is very important in my mind for every martial practitioner.  Whether you are skiing, paddle boarding, surfing, lifting kettle bells, mountain climbing, etc.  Remain active, stay fit, stay flexible both physically and mentally and live large!  Stay busy my friends!!!

See You On The Mats!!!

awesome, I love to snowshoe and I am going to do a little tomorrow in my yard with the kids. I have over a foot of snow in my yard so it is good enough to get to on the snow shoes.

But I really can’t get use to the new metal snowshoes but it is all I can find these days and now I am going to see if I can fix my old bear paws, those were great shoes for the woods

  2. Sounds like fun Tim. I am okay with the new metal kinds but I would bet you can get your old ones fixed or find old ones for sale some where. .Check out this link: http://www.snowshoestore.com/bear-paw-snowshoes.html

Thanks Brian, I’ll check out those bear paws. It is so easy to go down hills on the bear paws, you can slide each step a little so it is kind of like skiing. Tried that the first time out (several years ago) on the metal shoes and I darn near did a face plant going down hill

  4. Hey I can see that in a heart beat with the metal ones!
