The Melting Pot Of Martial Arts: Filipino Martial Arts

DSCF3911

One thing that I love about the South East Asian martial systems is the diversity and the effectiveness.  In one country, specifically the Philippines there is an amazing culture of taking martial techniques from other systems and making it your own.  With influences from Europe, South East Asia, Japan, etc. the Filipino Martial Arts became one of the world’s most effective combat tested cultures that has ever existed on our planet.  This infusion continues to this day!  Here is a recent Manila Times article talking about different influences in the past.  Enjoy!
