Firearms Stance…

Weaver Stance1

So today I was at the range working on some groupings.  Even in 104 degree heat I enjoy every opportunity I have to go to the range.  Good groupings, bad groupings I take each and every opportunity to try and get better.  Most of you that know me know that I am right handed and left eye dominant.  This has always been challenging for me but I feel that I am making some strides with some tweaks in changing from the Weaver Stance to an Isosceles stance.  Recently I was at some firearms instructor training and when talking with several experts that recommended the change.  Specifically a change to a modified Isosceles.  This is the stance that are armed forces are using because it accentuates the body armor that they are wearing and improves their protection.

Modified Isosceles

Currently I am working solely on the Isosceles stance and will transfer over to the Modified Isosceles fully after the current firearms training I am going through.  It doesn’t matter what stance you eventually choose for yourself find what works for you and then make it reflexive and effective!

See You On The Mats!
