Do not neglect your striking skills. In a violent encounter striking skills are essential. They can serve as skills to get you inside to grappling, knock out your opponent, or disengage with your opponent and more. If you are serious about personal protection you need striking skill sets with both your hands and your feet and other body tools like your elbows, knees, head, shins, etc. Be well rounded so that you can function in any violent encounter!
