Targeting Is Essential…

Targeting is essential.  What does that mean?  Well, depending on your needs in a violent encounter what you target and when will simply make the difference.  When you look at Martial Systems around the world you will notice that many practice very effectively by targeting vital points that will have a major effect in a violent encounter.  If you are fighting for your life you need to make sure that you’re targeting is spot on and appropriate to your needs.  One of the things that drives me crazy is watching systems that have meaningless targeting.  Meaning they randomly stab if they are a bladed system or randomly strike to non-vital areas if they are primarily a striking system.  This really undermines their personal protection effectiveness and if they are preaching self-defense then someone needs to call them on it.  Targeting is essential in real world violence.  It literally could be the difference between life or death!
