Personally I believe that we as Homo sapiens need to push ourselves and experience the thrill/adrenaline/experience that comes from Living On The Edge. Now I do not mean doing things that are foolish, rash or unsafe. No instead I mean doing things than push you to the limit and take you to new places in your training and also in everyday life! Take for instance outside of the Martial Sciences I like to hike, rock climb, paintball, etc. We have a pretty good hike planned in a couple of weeks that will be taxing for a few hours and provided we stay on the trail it will also be safe! In the end we will have a beautiful one of a kind view and we will experience a difference in air quality! Safe but also exhilarating! This hiking is part of my Martial Training! You see we as human’s need to have obstacles to overcome because it is in our genetic makeup. One of the worse things you can do in life is not to have goals and adventures. Some how these adventures rejuvenate us and keep us healthy spiritually! That is very, very important! So when I say Living On The Edge I mean doing things outside of the daily norm! This will take you to new exhilarating places in your life and of course in your Martial Science training!

Boy I’m glad I read that whole thing becasue based in the title alone “Living On The Edge” my first thought was What the heck are you talking about !?!?! my days of jumping in dirt bikes are over 🙂
Another good post Brian, but after reading it I have to admit, of late I am not pushing myself as much as I should, thanks for helping me figure that out.
Hey Tim glad I could help in some small way! 🙂
It is working well so far
Last night a lot of taijiquan
And today I got up did sit ups, crunches and leg raise and then some leg work followed by Zhan Zhuang standing training
Tonight I get back to the workout routine
Thanks again
Excellent Tim continue to push to the edge and enjoy!
Thats a gem of a post Brian! Going out to experience new things, and geting to understand them…it’s almost the “juice” that keeps everything else with my training charged. It keeps my head fresh, and helps to keep all my goals in perspective.
Absolutley Branden! It is a great way to not only keep going with what we do but to motivate and inspire ourselves to do better! Thanks for the comment!
