I am deeply saddened today to have received a call informing me that one of my dearest teachers had passed away. Legendary Tae Kwon Do Grand Master Eugene A. Humesky passed away on November 11th, 2013. He was a martial practitioner, teacher, husband and father but most of all he was an extremely honorable man and my friend! I can remember meeting him for the first time like it was yesterday. I was around fifteen years old at that time and he was an imposing figure to say the least. As the years went on I spent hours with him honing techniques and even more honing my mind. He was an intellectual martial giant in this field having knowledge far beyond the rest of us. Without his encouragement who knows where countless martial practitioner’s would be today. I know that without his encouragement for me to branch out and explore the Martial Sciences and be creative I would not be where I am now. He always had kind words to say about everyone and he was genuinely interested in anyone who practiced the Martial Sciences. He enjoyed watching and training in all martial practices and was on his own personal quest for knowledge. He was truly a pioneer in this field and I will miss him!
