What Should I Wear For Training?

Double Post Day!!!

What should I wear for martial arts training?  Depending on the system that you are training in will determine what you wear.  If you are training in Jiujitsu or Judo you will need a very heavy Gi.  If you are practicing Aikido you will need a Gi and Hakama once you reach black belt.  If you are practicing mma you are probably wearing shorts and a t-shirt or rashguard.  So certain systems require that you wear certain clothes.  In IRT practitioners need a heavy weight Gi though we only train with it sporadically.  In IRT you can wear BDU’s or battle dress uniform, shorts and t-shirt, sweat pants, jeans, dress shirt or really anything.    Wear some thing that you find comfortable.  One thing to note though is that not all clothes are as durable as we would hope.  A heavy weight Gi and or BDU’s are durable.  Shorts and some t-shirts might not last as long.  So please take that into consideration.  Bottom line wear what you want and train!  Train, train, train and train some more and improve your skill sets!  That is what is important!
