UFC, MMA And Eye Pokes

Okay, the UFC and MMA in general has got it all wrong with how they have been handling eye pokes. If someone gets poked in the eye and its verified by the referee through video just penalize them a point. All these high level fights with eye pokes like what just happened in the UFC Heavyweight Championship between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane will pretty much disappear. Sure you might have a few but nothing like what is happening right now. UFC fighter Jim Miller is correct when he says fighters eye poking other fighters are fouling and should be held accountable!  Personally, their little bit&h$%!  I had thousands of training sparring matches and tournament matches and was only poked once and it was an accident on a ridge hand. One time during years and years of training. Also it was debilitating at that moment.  Jon Jones and some other fighters have about an eye poke a fight. That tells me its intentional. Penalize the foul and this ends. Eliminate the dirty tactics by holding people accountable. I feel the exact same way regarding groin kicks or any foul. Just call it and penalize it. Simple and fighters will adjust or they will simply not be able to compete at the highest level.

The recent eye poke in question:

Aspinall shouldn’t have to defend himself for not continuing.  Gane fouled him.  It’s a foul that should be penalized…
