Interesting points here.  Good advice to never go in a criminal perpetrators car.  Very important to never be taken to another location!

I would not advise that all your strategy revolves around a choke.  I personally would be looking for or utilizing a weapon/tool that I brought with me or was available.  However, if you do not have a weapon or tool then utilizing a choke would be a viable option.  Provided you are well practiced!
